Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ

A what age should I start bringing my child to the dentist?
You can start bringing your child to the dentist as soon as their first teeth come in — typically around their first birthday or by age two. Early visits help your child get comfortable at the dentist and allow us to monitor healthy development.

Do you work with insurance companies?
Yes, we work with various insurance companies. For larger treatments, we can submit a treatment plan for pre-approval. For simpler or low-cost procedures such as cleanings, payment can be made directly at the clinic, after which you may request reimbursement from your insurance provider.

How much do your treatments cost?
Treatment costs vary depending on the procedure. For a detailed estimate tailored to your needs, we recommend scheduling a consultation.

Do accept patients without AZV?
Absolutely. We welcome all patients, including those without AZV or any insurance. Please note that we charge a consultation fee for patients without any insurance.

What is preventative care?
At Hunt Dental, we believe the best dental treatment is prevention. Our preventative care services are designed to help you avoid tooth decay, gum disease, and other oral health problems before they start. Through regular check-ups, cleanings, and personalized guidance, we help you maintain a healthy smile for life.
Night guards

Many people grind or clench their teeth while sleeping, often caused by stress. Night guards are custom-made appliances that cushion your teeth, preventing damage and reducing strain on your jaw.

Dental cleaning
Professional cleanings remove plaque and tartar build-up that can't be eliminated by brushing and flossing alone. Regular cleanings help prevent cavities, gum disease, and bad breath, while keeping your smile bright and healthy.
Check-ups

Routine dental exams are essential for catching issues early. During a check-up, we examine your teeth, gums, and overall oral health, using X-rays when necessary. Early detection allows for easier, less invasive treatments.

What is restorative dentistry?

Restorative dentistry focuses on repairing or replacing damaged or missing teeth to restore proper function, comfort, and appearance. Although prevention is ideal, sometimes our teeth can experience the wear and tear of life. At Hunt Dental, we’re committed to restoring your smile as best as possible. Whether you're dealing with cavities, damaged teeth, or tooth loss, our restorative treatments are designed to bring back your dental health and confidence.

Fillings & Root canal treatments
We offer fillings for both children and adults. If a cavity has progressed and affected the nerve of the tooth, a root canal treatment will be performed to clean and seal the canal before restoring the tooth with a durable filling.
Crowns & Bridges
For more extensive restoration, we provide ceramic crowns and bridges — long-lasting solutions that not only strengthen damaged teeth but also preserve the appearance of your smile. While they are a larger investment, crowns and bridges offer excellent durability and aesthetic results.
Dentures
We also make full and partial dentures, available either privately or through AZV subsidy (renewable every 4 years). We collaborate closely with experienced dental technicians to ensure that the dentures fit well and look natural.
What is cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of dental care that focuses on improving the appearance of the teeth, gums, and smile. Cosmetic dentistry at Hunt Dental focuses on enhancing the appearance of your smile. We offer professional teeth whitening, veneers, and retainers—both removable and fixed (CC-bar)—to improve the shape, color, and alignment of your teeth.
Retainers
We offer multiple types of retainers. Removable retainers are ideal for maintaining alignment after orthodontic treatment or for making minor corrections when full orthodontics aren’t necessary. Alternatively, we offer fixed retainers (CC-bar, a thin wire placed behind the teeth to keep them securely in position).
Veneers
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that that can be made from ceramic or composite material to cover the front surface of the teeth. They are designed to improve the shape and color of your teeth, offering a natural and aesthetic result.
Teeth Whitening
For teeth whitening, we begin by taking an impression of your teeth to create a custom-fit tray, similar to the abovementioned nightguard. Patients apply a whitening gel in the tray and wear it for a short period each day or as needed. This method gradually lightens the teeth without causing damage.
Do you offer panoramic x-rays?
Yes, our dental clinic offers high-quality panoramic x-rays (also known as OPG dental x-rays).

A panoramic x-ray is a full-mouth dental imaging scan that helps our dentists get a clear overview of your teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures. We use panoramic x-rays to check the position and development of wisdom teeth, investigate jaw pain, detect hidden dental problems such as cysts and bone loss. Some patients may require a panoramic x-ray for procedures being done elsewhere, such as with an orthodontist. In that case, we can send the image directly to you or to your provider.

Do you offer surgical procedures?
Yes, we provide a variety of surgical dental procedures. These include gingivectomy, surgical removal of dental abscesses, and root-end surgery (also known as an apicoectomy). One of our most common surgical procedures is the extraction of impacted wisdom teeth. Our experienced team is dedicated to making every surgical procedure as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Wisdom tooth extraction
When wisdom teeth are impacted or causing crowding, surgical removal may be necessary. This procedure is done under local anesthesia and helps prevent pain, infection, and future dental issues.
Gingivectomy
A gingivectomy is performed to enhance the aesthetics of a patient’s smile when there is no need for dental treatment of the teeth. This cosmetic procedure involves the careful removal of excess gum tissue to create a more balanced  gum line.
Apicoectomy
If a root canal doesn’t fully resolve an infection, an apicoectomy (root-end surgery) may be needed. This minor surgical procedure removes the tip of the tooth root and seals it to prevent further problems.
